I want to take a home loan in the joint name with my brother in equal proportion can we both claim the exemption from income tax for the repayment of principal and interest paid by both of us.
in future if we want to change the loan proportion and claim the exemption accodingly can we do so.

yes both of u can claim deduction and also u can change it in the following year

Devanshi Gandhi is Correct but in my view no banks are providing home loan to two brother in Joint name.
