Excise on Gold Jewellery / Ornaments.

28 May 2010 dear sir,

Kindly provide me answers for following :

(1) Is above item an excisable product ? If yes, what is HS code, Chapter No., Heading No., Entry no. & Rate of Duty ?
(2) Suppose, it is a non-excisable item, and if I produce it & Export it, then do I have to take excise regn and and intimate them every time as & when I export (though it is a non-excisable item ) ?
(3) In short, is it mandatory to involve excise dept for the export of the item on which there is no excise duty (non-exciable item) ?
