I have a query regarding excise ..
There is a granite manufacturing unit in the name of XYZ pvt ltd . Now the manufacture wants to start the production of some other article (not granites ) in the same premises but as a separate unit.
Now in terms of excise exemption , do we need to consider both the products or can we claim unit wise exemption ??

Both turnover will be clubbed for the purpose of SSI exemption. If unit is separate then also you need to pay excise duty if both unit are same owner and you need to registered with central excise.
