06 February 2012 Dear Sir,

I have one query regarding ETDS return for FY 2009-10

We are a Pvt limited company. We have filed ETDS return for all four quarters together on 25-June-2010 for the said year. But all the returns have been rejected by NSDL. Now after almost two years our employees have got the demand notices from IT dept to pay the Income tax for that year as they have not received any credit.

How can we submit the revised / corrected ETDS return ? Further you must be aware there is penalty of Rs.100/- per day for the delay in fling these returns so Is there is any way we can avoid the penalty ??

Alternativaly if we file the corrected return & don't pay the penalty, what are the implications ??

Please guide us on above. Your early reply would be helpful.

06 February 2012 Since the TDS returns rejected by NSDL, your case is treated as No TDS filed, so no question of correcting the return, you need to file return newly. since return not filed with in due date cannot avoid penalty for the same
