30 June 2011 An assessee is eligible to claim deduction under 80 C and 80G.He wants to file his return online. then how shall be the supporting for Deductions submited to IT Dept ?

While filing paper returns, we can attach a xerox copy of the document, say LIC cetificate or HL Certificate, and sent it along with the return. But what is to be done in case of E-filing?

30 June 2011 Physical ITR are annexureless returns.No documents are required to be attached.

For all types of Filing, online or physical : The proofs of deductions should be preserved and kept for submitting to the Officer if Assessment takes place later on.

30 June 2011 Income tax return shall not accompany any attachments / annexures. Pl see clause 6 of CIRCULAR NO. 03 / 2009, DATED 21-5-2009.
