26 May 2016 Hi Sir,
I have some USA income, I am a resident Indian, While filling the return ITR2 , in schedule FSI

What shall I fill for the column "Relevant article of DTAA if relief claimed u/s 90 or 90A".

I have paid some tax in US and want to take credit for it, but not sure where will I get the "Article" of DTAA.

Please advice from where can I get this information

26 May 2016 You have to see the DTAA agreement. Tell me the nature of income I will tell you the Article No.

26 May 2016 Dear Sir,

Thanks for your response.

I was posted in USA on H1B visa and worked as a software engineer and was posted at a Client Location in California,got Salary in dollars from the US Branch of our Indian origin(TCS) Company .the salary was credited to my USA bank account, I transferred that salary to my Indian Bank account.

So what will be the article code for sec 90/90A for claiming the tax credit in schedule FSI of ITR2.

Also can you please let me know if I need to claim only federal tax as relief or
both federal tax + State(California ) tax as credit

27 May 2016 I got the answeer, the Article is 25 as per the DTAA, found it in https://www.incometaxindia.gov.in/Pages/international-taxation/dtaa.aspx
