Investoment have wider scope and the deposit have lower scope...
investment will include the investment in shares of the company, investment in building ,Etc with the intention of making revenue or profit
example if you invest in building you can derive the rental income
Deposit is normally for the purpose of saving of your surplus and some other cases it is for the purpose of security
