i am a professional and i purchased a new car on 17th july 2009.i use this car for my personal use... to go to my office and all.
now my question is whether i can claim depreciation of 50% on this car. under notification no. 37/2009[F.No.142/01/2009-TPL], dated 21-4-2009. treating the car as commercial vehicle

22 June 2010 No, you can't treat your personal car as commerical vechile.
You have to claim normal depreciation @ 20%.
