i am a recently qualified Ca who got membership in April,2012 and i am presently working and not holding a COP.
i wanted to know the Cpe Hours programme that i must be attending in my first year.

A member is exempt from CPE requirement in the first year.

but i jus came to knw that a member has to attend atleast 45 hrs in a span of three Years ... so how would 1 yr exempt make a difference in the calculation of 45 Hrs..???

The CPE requirement is as under:
1. A member holding COP - 60 hours in 3 year rolling period & minimum 20 hours every year.
2. A member not holding COP - 45 hours in 3 year rolling period & minimum 10 hours every year.
So, a member is exempt from requirement of 10/20 hours in the first year.
However, he has to complete TOTAL hours in 3 years.
1. A member holding COP - 60 hours in 3 year rolling period & minimum 20 hours every year.
2. A member not holding COP - 45 hours in 3 year rolling period & minimum 10 hours every year.
So, a member is exempt from requirement of 10/20 hours in the first year.
However, he has to complete TOTAL hours in 3 years.
