Dear Sir/Madam,
Consignee is entitleed to get a commission of Rs.25 per article sold plus one fourth of the amount by which gross sale proceeds less his total commission thereon exceeded a sum at the rate of Rs.125 per articles sold. He sold 450 articles at Rs.73,800. Commission amount will be______

He sold 450 articles at Rs. 73,800.
i.e. Per article Sale Price = 73800/450= 164
So Commission :
Comm = (25+x) p.u. or Total comm= 11250+450X
(a) 25* 450 articles = 11250
(b) {(164-25-x)-125}/4= (14-X)/4
so
25+x= 25+ (14-X)/4
or
4x=14-x
or
x= 2.80
Comm = 11250+2.80*450= 12510
i.e. Per article Sale Price = 73800/450= 164
So Commission :
Comm = (25+x) p.u. or Total comm= 11250+450X
(a) 25* 450 articles = 11250
(b) {(164-25-x)-125}/4= (14-X)/4
so
25+x= 25+ (14-X)/4
or
4x=14-x
or
x= 2.80
Comm = 11250+2.80*450= 12510
