Inrespect of interest income earned by a minor from the Fixed Deposit(R 2.5 lakhsfor AY 12-13) of Her deceased father and interest is received by her mother for minor, who is liable to pay tax ?. Whether it is liable for clubbing of income with the mother's income(Mothers Income is only Rs 85000 for the AY)or the income is taxable in the hands of minor alone?. If it is taxable inthe hands of Minor, Whether the mother cn file the return of income of her minor daughter by furnishing the mother's PAN. Kindly advice.Please also clarify whether PAN is required for Minor daughter about 14 years

27 June 2012 The interest income will club in the income of her Mother.The return of Minor is not required to be filed.
Mother will file her own return including the income of her minor daughter.
PAN is not required for her 14 years old daughter.
