Clarification on tax on notice pay deduction

03 April 2012 I had recently changed job and my previous employer had deducted notice pay of Rs. 54000/- and had not deducted from taxable income in the Computation.

Further the new Company which had reimbursed the notice pay had also taxed the same in the computation.

I will be thankful if you can clarify whether the deduction made by my previous Company can be adjusted in the net taxable income or not ?

04 April 2012 While filing the return, reduce the income of the previous employer by the amount of notice pay.
