CENVAT Credit can be taken on Banking charges

21 January 2009 How should I take cenvat credit on banking charges they do not provide me any bank advise for each and every charge to me......... Can it be available through Bank Statment but this does not contain any signature or any other thing which is a valid document for cenvat credit

21 January 2009 Credit is not available on banking charges- cenvat credit can be taken on the service tax paid by the bank on banking charges. At the end of the year you can ask the bank to give you a consolidated bill, which shows the service tax. That is sufficient to take cenvat credit.
