Cash payment exceeding Rs. 20,000/-

10 February 2011 The company has purchased six stamp papers(court fees) of Rs. 25,000/- each totalling to Rs. 3,00,000/- paid in cash. Can this expenditure be allowed as deduction for Income Tax purpose, considering as an exemption under Rule 6DD?

10 February 2011 As per rule 6DD(b) payment made to government (both State and central), if under the rules framed by it such payments is required to be made by cash, so courtfess can be made by cash. no disallowance
