We are Manufacturers. can we take 12.5% or 14.5% capital goods credit. because the sales tax officers told me 5% ITC only allowed for capital goods credit

Ask the sales tax officer the relevant provision under which he is saying the same . You may check and confirm. Some states in India has restricted the capital goods to some lower percentage.
