As I understand, a student clearing the CWA final examination needs to have 3 years of work experience before applying for membership.
My question is whether CA Industrial training (I know that CA articleship training is not recognized but have always failed to understand the logic) is recognized by ICWAI for work experience.

No, both are different area of experience level. and also not recognised by ICWAI for getting membership
