My client has deducted TDS from salary for FY 2013-14 and deposited timely. but later on it was noticed that there has been short fall in the same. The employee has paid the shortfall of TDS amount in his ITR as Self Assessment Tax. But still the Employer is receiving the intimation from TDS Dept, mentioning the short fall amount and Interest there on as Demand Notice from Income Tax.

Kindly inform what should be done in this case on part of Employer?

A corporation is giving an accommodation to the employee (say M.D.), the house rental Rs.180000< is paid by company to the house owner as the rent agreement is between owner and the company (as tenant). Company is booking expenses as "Accommodation facility to employees" in P/L. Whether co. is liable to deduct TDS on that rent payment to house owner.?
