01 September 2010 Last date was 31.03.10 for belated return
As per section 139(4) if return is not furnished within allowed time before the assessement made, at any time before the end of one year from the date of relevant AY.

A penalty of Rs. 5000/- may be imposed under section 271F if belated return is sublitted after the end of AY.
