Please give me clarification about whether tax consultant can appear before GST tax authorities on behalf of assessee.

yes, a tax consultant can appear....
For AUDIT, there could be some restrictions.....like CA, CS or CMA can do the audit of GST cases
but for appearance, the only restrictions could be......the agent should not be minor, bankrupt, convicted in moral turpitude case and so on.
