If I own a house(let out) and staying on rented house in the same city .. I cant claim HRA exemption while calculating income tax ?

19 October 2012 No, you can claim for HRA Exemption and your letout property will consider under the head of "Income from House Property" in your total taxable income.

You can claim HRA exemption but you will have to offer your rental income to tax and you will have to provide rent receipt/rental agreement to your employer to get hra exemption.
