28 January 2010 can a person registered under maintenance and repair services for service tax claim abatement of 67%

29 January 2010 This is under not 1/2006 which has not been extended to repairs. Not available.
However the alterantive is to claim Value offerred for VAT ( say 65%) as abatement under Not. 12/2003.
Further deduct the value of goods involved from the value of service. {As per SC decision in Shilpa Color labs} A little more cumbersome though.
Further alterantive avail the credit on the ED paid on the materials used and pay ST on the gross amount.

23 February 2010 can cenvat credit be claimed once registered under works contract(composition scheme)instead of using 4.12%
