26 March 2011 Dear all,

plz give me the meaning of abatement & how abatement applicablity.

and plz give me instruction of service tax return filled ST 3 Half yearly .

26 March 2011 Abatement means the deduction from the taxable service receipt, supppose taxable service Rs.100 & abatement appicable 25% means Rs.100 less Rs.25 (being 25% on Rs.100) can be deduct and tax can be paid on Rs.75
