Wrong pan in challan paid

dear sir, i have paid a challan of income tax of self assessment tax of rs5000 on 27sep2010 for f.y. 09-10 but challan details are not showing on it site and now i have recvd a demand notice of rs6000 so whAt can i do notice is from my local ao pls help me as challan have wrong pan no.
