Wrong assessment year in challan 280

28 July 2015 Dear Sir,
An assesse has given wrong assessment year in the challan 280 i.e. it will self assessment tax paid for A.Y. 2015-16 but he has given self assessment tax for A.Y. 2014-15. The challan has been deposited to the bank on April'2015.

Please tell what can be done to rectify the error and what is the procedure.

28 July 2015 You need to visit your Jurisdiction AO with request letter for correction of AY in challan. Submit the letter along with a copy of the challan.
