Vat if applicable on jobwork

12 May 2012 Kindly advise if Jobwork is liable for VAT or not.

A person wants to do jobwork in which the material is provided by the owner and the completed goods are returned to the same person. Is there any liability for VAT for this jobwork (labour work)?

I am writing from Gujarat.

In Gujarat such kind of activities is not liable for VAT.
