26 January 2010 Unofficaly i can confirm you that it is extended upto 31.03.10. as per meeting between stpam and comm.
So relax and say all is well.

28 January 2010 On 22/01/10 the Hon. Finance Minister Mr. Sunil Tatkare has announced at the time of bhoomipujan ceremony of proposed building of sales tax office of Ratnagiri that MVAT Audit date is extended by 2 months. This announcement was made in the presence of Hon. Sales Tax Commissioner Mr. Sanjay Bhatia, but there is no official communication yet from the Sales tax department which is creating confusion.
Sales tax Department should come with a circular or clarification on the extension and let taxpayers know if there is any extension or not for MVAT audit for financial year 2008-09.
