05 May 2011 Can anyone let me know the procedure to get UTN number

We have to issue form 16 which has income from previous employer, we are not able to take the credit of the tax deducted by the previous employer unless we mention UTN number.

How to get the UTN number in the above situation

06 May 2011 THERE IS NO NEED TO TAKE UTN .THE CBDT PROPSED UTN BUT IT WAS WITHDRAWN PRIOR TO IT BECAME EFFECTIVE
