what is the tax deduction in respect of Uniform allowance.
i am receiving uniform allowance of rs 40000/- p.a and what are the proof which i need to submit to my accoutant for claiming the same

Uniform allowance is fully taxable.

thanks, under income tax act u/s 10(14)- " any allowance granted to meet the expenditure incurred on purcahse or maintenance of uniform for wear during the performance of the duty of an office is fully exempt from tax"
as we have prop. firm and we have no such particular uniform. in this case any uniform allowance given to employee is taxable or exempt? if exempt then what is the limit and their is any requirement to give proof regarding this?
