15 July 2009 can a individual claim Rs. 15000 for self and also Rs. 20000 for senior citizen parents aggregating to Rs. 35000?

15 July 2009 Hi,
If the ASSESSEE is a senior citizen then he can claim deduction upto 20000/-.
If the ASSESSEE is not a senior citizen then deduction available upto 15000/-.

15 July 2009 yes.. you can claim deduction upto 35000/-

15 July 2009 yes, he can claim deduction up to rs. 35000, Rs. 15000 for self and also Rs. 20000 for senior citizen Dependent parents

15 July 2009 no he cant claim deduction of aggregate RS 35000.....
Max dedn can be claimed is Rs 20000 if dere is any senior citizen and if not den only Rs 15000

16 July 2009 yes....you can.....if suppose faher is not a senior citizen then 15000+15000 = 30000 only can claim
