I have made a contract with a company for transport its product to it go down. Now please help me what is the procedure for service tax and I am a proprietor

14 July 2013 1)Service by way of transportation of goods by road is in negative list – except services of Goods Transport Agency (GTA) and Courier Agency--

2)So as above entry in negative list..

No service tax if consignment note not issued. Simple transport Bill is not ‘consignment note’

If you are GTA agent and transportation is by way of consignment then only servicetax applicable other wise no servicetax applicable on transportation.

In case of GTA service receiver has liable to pay service tax under reverse charge mechanism
Your client is required to be registered under Service Tax
