TDS traces shows "processed with defaults"

I have downloaded the reasons of defaults.

I want to know how to remove these defaults.

07 March 2014 check the reasons for defaults:

1. if the default is on account of any error in providing details in TDS return, such as date of challan, challan no etc put wrong, correct the same

2. if the default is such as short deduction, interest on delayed payment etc, then pay the default amount and revise the return

07 March 2014 dear nikhil,

i have paid all my default payments regarding late filing & short deduction of tds 3months ago but still its showing as default. I want to know when will it be updated? is there any procedure to get my account updated on traces website?

plz guide... thanks in advance

07 March 2014 did you revise the tds return after paying against short deductions and late filing fees?

but suppose in particular quarter i have default in case of late filing or late payment only. do i need to revise for that case too??

if yes, there will be no change in any details. then what is the use of revising it. in few quarters i have in default for late filing of returns only and i have already paid default amount long back.. almost 3months has passed still they have not updated my account.

07 March 2014 yes...you need to revise the return and include the challan details for late filing in the return...only after reprocessing of the revised return, the defaults can be removed.
