i'm trying to file correction returns for 26, Q3 FY2010-11
In which date of payment/credit and date of deduction in the Annexure is shown as 09/08/2010. is there anyway where i could correct this date of 01/10/2010. When i try to make changes it is not allowing any correction in the Date of deduction column and the following error is appearing
T-FV-4322 Valid Date on which tax Deducted / Collected must be provided. Date prior to relevant quarter is not allowed
28 July 2025
This is a common issue because the date of deduction (TDS date) cannot fall outside the quarter for which you are filing the return.
Here’s how you can resolve this:
1. **Identify the correct quarter** for the date of deduction (01/10/2010 falls in Q2 FY 2010-11, while 09/08/2010 falls in Q1).
2. **Delete the incorrect entry** from the Q3 return (09/08/2010 date entry in Q3 return is invalid).
* If the software doesn’t allow deleting that entry directly, you may need to create a correction statement with the record marked for deletion. Usually, correction statements let you mark a transaction as deleted.
3. **Add the entry in the correct quarter’s return** (Q2 in your case, with deduction date 01/10/2010).
4. **File correction returns for both quarters** (Q3 with deletion of the wrong entry and Q2 with the correct entry).
If your software or portal doesn’t allow deleting or marking the record as deleted, you might have to contact the NSDL/TIN helpdesk or use their correction utilities to fix this.

**Summary:**
* Date of deduction cannot be outside the quarter. * Move entries to correct quarter via correction statement (delete from wrong quarter, add to correct quarter). * File correction returns accordingly.
