Here’s the scoop on downloading TDS return data (deductee-wise) from NSDL/TIN:
---
### What NSDL/TIN Website Offers:
* You **can check the status of TDS returns filed** (whether accepted or rejected). * You can **view challan status and payment details**. * However, **deductee-wise details (like 26Q or 24Q deductee info) are NOT downloadable** in Excel or any other format from the NSDL website.
---
### Why is deductee-wise data not available for download?
* The NSDL/TIN portal only shows the summary and challan details. * Detailed deductee information is part of the filed return file (in .txt or .fvu format), which NSDL processes but does not make available back to the deductor online. * NSDL/TIN portal doesn’t provide an option to download the full deductee data once the return is submitted.
---
### How can you retrieve the deductee data?
1. **Check your original return file:**
* When you file a TDS return, you generate a return file from the utility software (FVU file). * The deductee details are inside this file. * If you still have this file saved on your computer, you can extract data from it using the return preparation software.
2. **Use the Return Preparation Utility (RPU):**
* Download the same version of RPU you used for filing. * Load the saved return file (.fvu) in the software. * The software can display the deductee details; you may export them to Excel from there.
3. **Request data from your software vendor or internal IT team:**
* If you used third-party software, contact them to provide the backup or export.
4. **If you lost all data:**
* Unfortunately, there is no official way to download the deductee-wise details from NSDL. * You may need to reconstruct the data from your accounting/payroll system or other records.
---
### Summary:
* **NSDL/TIN website: You get only challan and filing status, not deductee details.** * **Deductee details must be retrieved from your saved return files or software.**

If you want, I can help guide you on how to extract data from the RPU software or suggest alternative ways to reconstruct your data. Would that help?
