17 March 2026 For your tax calculation, add Ex-gratia to your taxable income, but leave out the Employer PF (up to 12%) and Gratuity contributions. Under the new tax regime, the Rs. 60,000 rebate is only available if your income is up to Rs. 12,00,000. If your income exceeds this, you lose the rebate entirely and must pay the total calculated tax, though "Marginal Relief" will cap your tax liability if your income is between Rs. 12 Lakhs and Rs. 12.75 Lakhs.
