28 July 2025 For your question about entering a deductee with a **non-deduction of TDS certificate** in the **free NSDL TDS return preparation utility (RPU 2.0)**:

---

### The option **A or B** refers to:

* **Option A:** Deductee has **submitted a certificate for non-deduction of TDS** (like Form 13, 15G, or 15H).
* **Option B:** Deductee **has not submitted such certificate**, but TDS was not deducted for other reasons.

---

### What to choose?

* If the deductee has provided you a valid **certificate for non-deduction** (e.g., Form 15G/15H or any other exemption certificate), then choose **Option A**.

* If no certificate was provided but you did not deduct TDS for other valid reasons (like threshold limits), then choose **Option B**.

---

### Why is this important?

* Selecting the correct option helps the IT Department to understand why TDS was not deducted on that particular payment.
