10 February 2011 hi experts, If transaction fee(like service charge or commission) is paid to travelling agency for booking the tickets then tds will be deducted on transaction fee amount or not (u/s 194h). pls help me

10 February 2011 generally the payment called as brokerage. Brokerage paid to ticket agent is considered as contract fees paid to agent. This will be treated as contract fees u/s 194C, only brokerage due/paid will be considered for defining the limits specified by sec194C.

Limits are 35K per single transaction or 75K in a year.

10 February 2011 Payment made to travel agency do not attract TDS.
