30 July 2011 hello Experts..

I today received one of my TDS certificate of assessment year 2008-09.. of Rs. 23000 TDS
i didn't file my return ever..
now what can i do..

should i prepare return of AY 2010-11 and claim the old TDS

or is there any other way to claim the refund

plz suggest

30 July 2011 Old TDS can't be claimed in the return for the F.Y 2010-11.
Return for the assessment year 2008-09 also can't be filed voluntarily being barred by time.
Now u may apply to the commissioner of income tax seeking to give a direction to the income tax officer to accept your return for the asst year 2008-09. After getting the direction u may file return for the assessment year 2008-09 to claim refund of TDS.
