Is it true that post office do not deduct tds on fd interest even if exceeds rs 10000?
One person received interest 42000 approx without tds, what could be possible reasons?

Post office to be deduct TDS if interest is more than Rs.10000/-
If deductee submit Form 15G/H then no need TDS will be deducted in respect of that income.
