TDS on Bill

This query is : Resolved

30 September 2009 Hi,
Kindly let me know, when a service provider charges service tax on bill amount, the person paying should deduct TDS on total bill amount ( Basic + service tax) or on bill amount excluding service tax.

Your reply would be appreciated.

Thanks.

30 September 2009 TDs should be charged Gross amount

In case of rent No TDS on Service Tax

02 October 2009 yes if under 194C / 194J

only in rents u/s 194I , service tax to be excluded

08 October 2009 When service provider submits his return, his declared income should include service tax collected?
In short, is he liable to pay income tax on service tax collected which has already been submitted to service tax dept.
