Tds of last two financial years not claimed

This query is : Resolved

12 November 2013 Respective all seniors,

one of my friend is working as a insurance agent with LIC and TDS was for F.Y 2010-11, 11-12 and 12-13.

He has manually filled ITR for F.Y 2011-12 but refund has not received till date.

apart from that he failed to filled ITR for F.y 2010-11, and he have only agriculture income and income from Commission. income from commission is far below to exempted limit. can he claim the amount of TDS dedcuted for f.y 2010-11 in current years return or file ITR for F.Y. 2010-11.

what will be the process to know, why refund of F.y 2011-12 has not processed yet.

kindly suggest.

12 November 2013 For FY 2011-12, kindly follow up with the assessing officer.

For FY 2012-13, if you haven't filed the tax return yet, kindly file online. This helps in expediting the refunds

For FY 2010-11, you can apply for refund under section 119(2). but its a slow and complex procedure. Alternatively, you may request AO to issue 142(1) notice. You can file return in response to the said notice. However, the whole process would make sense only if the refund amount is big (which definitely is not the case here)
