12 June 2020 Let me know the TDS rate for Software Support Service (Remote help desk support)
1. 10% (194J Professional Fees) or is
2. 2% (194J Fees for technical service)

12 June 2020 Sir but same service comes under Information technology (IT) consulting and support services, then why not applicable under 194J 2% FTS (its technical support service for software)

12 June 2020 Thank you for reply sir,

I agree that white collared job fall under professional service, even last year I also deducted tds for same service at 10%.
After amendment 194J divided in two rates (2% for FTS & 10% professional service).
IF technical support provider for software by private limited company then how we decide that availed service rendered by employee of that company is engineering professional or other person.
Also company claiming that service rendered by them came under technical service not professional service.
vendor is providing support & technical help for our software.

13 June 2020 In such a case deduct 10% TDS treating it as professional service as such services can be provided only by professional.
