TDS due date

06 April 2009 To All,
repected sir,

Due date for mar 09 tds deposit(except 31st mar accrual entries) is on 07th april 09, but there is bank holiday (mahavir jayanti).

My query is can I deposit it on 08th April 09 without interest ?,

Pls reply me urgently

06 April 2009 You need to pay this on 06-Apr. If you paid this on 08-Apr then it will amount to delay in payment of TDS & attract the interest.

Also note that it is mandatory to pay TDS online. If you are paying this online & there is no need to wait till 08-Apr pay this on 07-Apr.

Please note that if you don't have online facility then you can pay from any other persons online account & then make payment to him.

07 April 2009 Thanks for your quick reply Chetan, for online payment i have to register with nsdl, i have already paid TDS traditionally (we are Pvt ltd Co) will this attract penalty ?
