MY VAT PURCHASE INVOICES FOR SOFTWARE GOODS ARE ALSO CARRYING INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SOFTWARE SERVICES TAX (SERVICETAX CHARGED IN THE SAME INVOICE ) .
SHOULD TDS BE DEDUCTED WHILE PAYMENT IS BEING GIVEN TO SUPPLIER AS A CONTRACTOR

No, as you said it is purchase of goods. There is no services provided, hence no need to deduct the tds on it.
