Tds deduction

I have joined a company as free lancer for updating only data entry job. no writtem contract just a verbal contract. as per company. they are deducting 10 % tds on payment as payment exceed 30000 under section 194j but as per me I should be come undet 194c . I am not holding any professional degree. please advise the wayout

it is not required that you should have a professional degree. the said job would more of then not shall be covered under 194J only.
