TDS Challan data can be altered by bank

If wrong year mentioned on the TDS challan,is it possible for Banks to rectify the mistake in challan data submitted by them to NSDL, on authorised representation/letter from assessee. In such case whether bank can split the challan and update revise details to NSDL.
