While making e-payment of TDS by mistake wrong assessment year selected. There is any procedure available to rectify this mistake.
For eg.
party's name: XYZ
Bank : ABC
Assessment Year: 2011-2012.(while assessment year was selected is 2010-2011)
This is due to clerical mistake
For eg.
party's name: XYZ
Bank : ABC
Assessment Year: 2011-2012.(while assessment year was selected is 2010-2011)

Write a letter to your TDS AO requesting him for correction in Challan Data. Also attach a copy of the said challan.

Sir,
This is to inform you that we had deposited TDS of1000/- (One Thousand Only) u/s 194-J pertaining to the month of March’2010 but at the time of online payment of the said amount the Assessment Year was wrongly selected as 2010-11 instead of 2011-12.
We therefore request you to kindly make the necessary correction in your records. We are also enclosing a photocopy of the said challan.
We regret for our inadvertent mistake.
