15 February 2012 Sir,
for the FY 2011-2012 I have received following interest:-
PNB Saving interest - 5754
PNB F.D. intersest - 6246
------
TOTAL Interest 12000/-

Sir TDS is deducted on total interet of Rs.12000/- or on fixed deposit interest

also told me limit of rs.10000/- for each bank or for total bank

its urgent reply

16 February 2012 TDS is applicable only on FD interest.

Further, the limit of Rs. 10,000/- is per branch.

For example you may have FD with 3 different branches of PNB. The limit of Rs. 10,000/- is for EACH branch and not for all the 3 branches combined together.
