TDS

This query is : Resolved

27 January 2011 If material is supplied to a printer & if the printer gives a vat bill, should tds be deducted? material & labour are not given separately in the bill.

27 January 2011 If you are supplying the material to the printer and he is only doing the printing work, he is delivering only labour services. There is no sale involved here hence VAT should not be applicable. However if he gives a vat bill then TDS is to be deducted on the total amount including VAT as TDS is to be made on "any sum"..again Rs 30k and Rs 75k limits may be kept in mind.
