Dear Members,
Can any one assist me to find the top 10 reasons that why we are getting notices from Department for our TDS filing. what and all could be the reason that we get the notices from departments.

1. for late deposit of tds without tds.
2. for lower deduction of tds.
3. for quoting wrong PAN of the deductee.

Possible reasons are;
1. Late deposit of TDS
2. Short deduction of TDS
3. Challan mismatch (Because many of us do not validate challan data from NSDL site)
4. For PAN mismatch and PAN not available in IT database.
To avoid these:
1) Pay TDS within due date, if late deposited deposit along with interest.
2) Check challan details from NSDL before filing return.
3) Verify PAN which you are quoting in your return. If possible obtain a copy of PAN from party.
4) Check Details of quarterly return from NSDL site by mentioning your PRN no.
5) If any mismatch file correction return.
