04 December 2012 if a non resident wins a game show and his Gross Taxable Income is below Minimum income chargeable to tax ie. Rs. 190000/- is it necessary to deduct TDS or is there any form available to avoid this provision?

04 December 2012 Income from game show is taxable at a flat rate of 30% and benefit of exemption limit is NOT available against such income.

So even if the income is less than the exemption limit, the income from winning is taxable at 30%.

This is applicable for both residents as well as non-residents.
